Wake up with a view in
Paris

Don’t just stay near it. Wake up to it.

Find the view that fits your trip

Every category is a rule we check in the data, not a label we pick.

How Wake Up With A View works

  1. 1
Choose what you want to see

A landmark, a river, the rooftops. Each has its own list of hotels.

  2. 2
See where the view comes from

Named in the room, stated by the hotel, from a rooftop: we quote the hotel’s own words.

  3. 3
    Book the right room

Check live prices with our partners, and book the category that names the view.

Views named in the room itself

Hotels where the landmark appears in a room category, the strongest evidence we list.

Close is not the same as with a view

Of the 510 cases where a hotel stands less than 1 km from a landmark we cover, only 50 state a view of it. Around the Eiffel Tower, 9 of the 16 hotels within 1 km do. This is why we never infer a view from a distance, and why a map of “hotels near” is not a list of hotels with a view.

01
View first

Every hotel is listed for what you can see from it: the landmark, and where the view comes from.

02
Data first

Distance, rating, balcony and terrace at a glance, with the date we checked them.

03
Never assume the view

Being close proves nothing. A view appears here only when a room name or the hotel’s description mentions it.

We list hotels by what you can see from them, and where the view is from. A view is shown only when the hotel says so. How we verify views →

Questions about rooms with a view

What does “room with a view” mean on a hotel booking?+

It depends on the wording. A room category that names the landmark is a commitment from the hotel. “City view” or “some rooms offer views” are much looser. We show the exact wording for every hotel.

Can a hotel guarantee a room with a view?+

Only through the room category. If you book a category with the view in its name, the view is part of what you pay for. Hotels rarely guarantee a specific room number, but they note written preferences such as a high floor.

Is a room with a view worth the extra cost?+

On our data, the cheapest room with the view cost a median 26% more than the same hotel’s cheapest room on the same night, across 59 rooms we could price. Whether that is worth it depends on how much time you plan to spend in the room.

Does a hotel close to a landmark have a view of it?+

Usually not. Of the 510 cases where a hotel is within 1 km of a landmark we cover, only 50 (10%) state a view of it.

Where does your information come from?+

From the public booking listings of each hotel: room names and the hotel’s own description, stored with the date they were collected.

Which cities are next?+

Paris is live. London, Rome and New York are next, and each city goes live only once its views are checked.
